Today’s the official Blood Bound release day!
Kind of.
If you live in the US or Canada and want a paperback copy, today is the release day.
If you live in the UK or want a US e-copy, you have to wait for September 1. I don’t know why. Why is the sky blue? Why do fish swim? Why do birds suddenly appear every time you are near?
Well, I actually know the answer to those first two. But I don’t know about the release date discrepancies. Or the birds. Frankly, that Carpenter’s song always reminds me of Hitchcock, which is just weird.
But back to the point…
If you live outside of the US, Canada, or the UK, you can order a copy from The Book Depository, because they’re awesome! Although I believe there are some Australian book stores that are actually importing copies. (If you know of one, please leave me a message, and I’ll link to the store.)
Want to win a signed copy of Blood Bound? How about two of them (one for you, one for a friend!). Want them personalized? Here’s how you can enter to win:
Post the official Blood Bound blurb, the cover, the video teaser (all three are found in this post), a link to some place the book can be legally purchased, and whatever else you’d like to say about the book or me as a writer (bonus points if you don’t use words like hag, hack, or the phrase “blight upon the publishing industry”). Then fill out the form here, including a direct link to your post.
Yes, previous posts/reviews count, so long as they include all three required elements.
(Please do NOT paste in a general link to your blog. I just don’t have the time to scroll through back entries when I’m verifying, and I do all this myself. So I really need a link to the actual post.)
Acceptable places to post: Your personal blog. Facebook note. Etc…
Unacceptable places to post: someone else’s blog, FB page, author site, etc… Also, anywhere I can’t go without joining. Facebook is the exception, because I have a Facebook account.
Deadline: September 1, 2011. Also known as “The Other Release Date.”
The official blurb:
By blood, by word, by magic…
Most can’t touch the power. But Liv Warren is special— a paranormal tracker who follows the scent of blood.
Liv makes her own rules, and the most important one is trust no one.
But when her friend’s daughter goes missing, Liv has no choice but to find the girl. Thanks to a childhood oath, Liv can’t rest until the child is home safe. But that means trusting Cam Caballero, the former lover forbidden to her.
Bound by oath and lost in desire for a man she cannot have, Liv is racing to save the child from a dark criminal underworld where secrets, lies, trauma and danger lurk around every corner…every touch…every kiss.
And more blood will be spilled before it’s over…

The UK cover:

Yaay! Congratulations Rachel on the release of Blood Bound!
I’m in love with the UK cover, so I’m anxiously counting back the days until the UK release…
Congratulations on the happy day – I am an ebook fan as they are easier for me to hold, as much as I love to look at a lovely cover and smell the print of a bound copy. I wish you much success on what sounds like a wonderful read.
Woohoo! I hope that it is well-received! I have to wait until September 1 as I pre-ordered the Kindle version a while ago.
Oh well, I’m sure it will be well worth the wait.
I am so excited!!! My UPS man dropped off mine as I was typing your release day post for my blog! I LOVE preorder from Amazon! Congrats! I still hope I win a signed one!
This is amazing! I cannot wait to start reading it! I just posted it and filled out the form, but I just wanted to let you know that for some reason the UK cover won’t show up. Instead, it just shows up as a link, and when you click on it, you get to see the cover with the order info. I didn’t know how to change it, and hope that it’ll still count.
Thanks again for this awesome chance! Best of luck with the book!
Cheers,
Ina
What do u mean by noy FB page but yes on facebook??
You can post it on YOUR FB page, but not on someone else’s. Does that make sense?
I think so lets see, MY page yes someone elses NO right??
I thought Blood Bound was amazing, I can’t wait for the next one. All the best with this release.
For the Aussies i was in a few bookstores asking when they would have Blood Bound in and all said they will nov be getting them in till Nov ( I’m in Perth W.A don’t know if its different in other parts) but the good news is if you don’t mind buying online you can get it now at http://www.booktopia.com.au its a great site can order up to 100 books and only pay 1 shipping no matter what the release date and how many packages sent out, also can have the choice of the U.S or U.K covers. Hope this helps out my fellow Aussies (they do ship international as well) cant wait for my copy i pre-ordered the U.S copy months ago
Just letting you know that Angus & Robertson http://www.angusrobertson.com.au/ are getting them in earlier than November. My store in Bunbury WA said the release date was the 23th in the US so it would arrive to their store Tuesday/Wednesday next week. I’m not sure if any of their other stores are getting them in without pre-orders though, you would have to ask them.
AGH! Another contest that I can’t enter because I’m not into social networking!!!! I know authors want to get more people into their books, but I buy them for myself and as gifts and talk them up yet I can’t enter any of these contests.
Still, happy it’s been released and will definitely be checking it out.
Actually, the vast majority of my contests require no work whatsoever. I’ve been giving Blood Bound away for two months with no requirements but that you fill out a Google form. But yes, this time, I would like some exposure for the book.
There will be more giveaways, though. And…it’s in stores now.
when will to release the first chapter of If I Die?
Rachel, I just got Blood Bound this afternoon, and I LOVE it! I’m about 3 quarters of the way through and its truly amazing!! Shifters/Faythe will always be my favorite, but BB is seriously to die for! Really great job!! I love Liv and Cam so so much!! Although I think Kori may be my favorite… I hope to read more about her as I finish the book. Thanks a ton for this new series!!!! <3 it!
Congrats Rachel! I’m so happy that Blood Bound has finally been released. I loved it and I’m sure everyone else will, too. It’s a wonderfully unique and dark series.

Congratulations and happy belated release day! I miss stopping by for a couple days and miss seeing there was this awesome trailer and a giveaway!
Blood Bound was seriously amazing. 2012 is really, really far away, especially when I’m dying to find out what that next line will be…
I cannot wait to start reading the Shifters series!
Hey Rachel!
Okay, now I’m nervous. Just keep in mind that Stray was the first book I published, and only the third one I ever wrote, and I wasn’t as mature a writer then. So…I think it gets better after that one.
Rachel
